Lute Supply New Headquarters Plans Revealed
Representatives of Clay Township board of trustees, fire department and zoning committee toured the future home of Lute Supply (formerly JW Village Market/ Harts/Big Bear) 2 miles north of Portsmouth city limits.
Lute Supply is a family owned company that began operations in Portsmouth, Ohio in 1952. The company has grown into one of the top 150 wholesale distributors of plumbing and heating and cooling in the United States. The company also boasts one of the largest kitchen and bath showroom networks in the tri-state area.
Brian Hancock, Senior V.P. explained the current headquarters serves branches in Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky and Indiana and has outgrown its current facilities. The company has operated two wholesale locations in Portsmouth and will now be able to combine these two locations into one at the new facility in phase one of the project. Phase two will be the renovation and relocation of the Company’s headquarters and Corporate offices.
The new location will be more than 96,000 square feet of buy-it-yourself homeowner products, professional sales/service counters, showrooms, offices and warehouse space.
Lute Supply plans to incorporate a “green” approach to design, construction and operations at the new location. A state of the art geothermal heating and cooling system and many other energy conserving technologies are planned. New customer convenience traffic and parking patterns to facilitate additional traffic are being developed. In addition, 4 new shipping/receiving docks and 2 customer loading areas are planned for the facility.
The demolition phase of the project is nearing completion. Chris Lute, CEO Lute Supply explained ”This location will be incredibly accessible to an increased number of customers. The shear size of this facility will allow us to present new products and services in a way we just couldn’t realize in our current location. I am overwhelmed with the responses we have already received from this community.”
We expect to be making the initial transition from our current locations to this facility as early as August” said Jason Lute, President and Chief Operating Officer. “Phase II of our plans will begin later this year and into 2010.”

American Standard Ingenuity Trailer in Ashland, KY
Lute Supply challenged the people of Ashland, KY to 'stop flushing money down the toilet' on Wednesday, September 3, 2008. Lute Supply hosted an American Standard Day featuring the new Ingenuity trailer. This trailer featured many of the newer more efficient American Standard products now available at Lute Supply. Greener more efficient products are easier on your budget and our environment. Ashland's Manager, Rob Rutledge grilled hot dogs to serve to our visitors and customers during lunch.

Sioux Chief Counter Day at Lute Supply
On Friday March 28, 2008, Tom Lowder with Lowder Sales Inc. demonstrated many new Sioux Chief plumbing products to the local contractors and customers of Lute Supply in Portmsouth, OH. Lunch included fried chicken from a local favorite, Short Stop.
Cincinnati Grand Open House
Lute Supply held a Grand Open House at their newest location in Cincinnati, Ohio on the evening of September 27, 2007. The customer service and sales areas including loading areas were completely renovated during the spring of 2007. Now complete, the 34,000+ sq. ft. facility provides Lute Supply with increased warehousing and sales capacities.
Chris Lute, CEO, Jason Lute, President and COO and his wife Jennifer met the customers in the new sales facility. Frank Ferrarelli VP, Brad Morningstar, Branch Manager and the entire Cincinnati and Covington, KY branch teams created a wonderful customer focused environment. Bob Williams, Corporate Sales Manager and Elaine Hinton, Director of Marketing coordinated the event.
After tours of the facility and a feast provided by the famous Montgomery Inn more than 175 enjoyed an evening of casino games and disco. Brian Hancock, Senior VP acted as MC and had the pleasure of awarding more than $12,000 in door prizes.

Vanguard Labor Day Sale at Lute Supply
Lute Supply's River Days All Day Sale featuring Vanguard products such as ventless fireplaces and gas logs. Mix 99.3 was onsite for a live remote and door prizes were given to many customers through out the day. Customers and visitors were able to register for the grand prize, a Vanguard 24" log heater valued at $435. Lute Supply’s VP / Territory Manager, Craig Gullion is pictured above congratulating our grand prize winner, Brenda Coburn of McDermott. Desa International’s Regional Manager, Brent Weber was available to answer any questions about new Vanguard products.
